ISO 9001 in Healthcare: Certification as Proof of Rigour

2026

Lean Health Portugal renews ISO 9001 certification.

Lean Health Portugal has renewed its ISO 9001 certification following an audit conducted by SGS , reaffirming the organization’s commitment to quality and continuous improvement.

The renewal of this certification represents more than just maintaining formal recognition. It is confirmation of a management system that aligns with how Lean Health Portugal conducts its business and continuously seeks to improve its processes and the quality of service provided.

Quality as an ongoing commitment

ISO 9001 establishes requirements for a Quality Management System, promoting a structured approach to process management, identifying opportunities for improvement, and meeting customer needs.

At Lean Health Portugal, this commitment is directly linked to our way of working: understanding the challenges of healthcare organizations, analyzing processes, identifying opportunities for improvement, and implementing solutions that contribute to more efficient and sustainable results.

Certification also allows us to ensure an increasingly structured and consistent approach to managing our projects and our relationships with the various professionals and organizations we work with.

An audit that reinforces the path.

The audit conducted by SGS allowed for the evaluation of the continuity and adequacy of Lean Health Portugal’s Quality Management System, ensuring compliance with the requirements of the ISO 9001 standard.

The renewal of the certification is therefore also a recognition of the work carried out daily by the team and the importance that quality assumes in all dimensions of our activity.

Keep improving

At Lean Health Portugal, we believe that continuous improvement should not be limited to the projects we develop in healthcare organizations. It should also begin within the organization itself.

Renewing ISO 9001 certification means continuing to uphold this commitment: evaluating what we do, identifying opportunities for improvement, and striving to do better every day.

It is with this purpose that we continue to work to support the transformation of healthcare organizations, creating value through improved processes, efficiency, and the experience of professionals and patients.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between ISO 9001 certification and renewal?

Initial certification recognizes for the first time that the organization complies with the standard. Renewal confirms, through a new independent audit, that this compliance is maintained over time. Renewal is, in practice, proof that rigor was not a one-off event, but a habit.

Is ISO 9001 mandatory for providing services to hospitals?

It is not legally required. However, it is often valued in public procurement and partnerships because it reduces the risk associated with choosing a supplier.

Since when has Lean Health Portugal been certified?

Since 2023, we have held ISO 9001:2015 certification, audited by SGS.
